Introduction of the virtual card for online payments.
Apr 2014 - Mar 2015
When the previous version of our mobile app was in use, users were unable to make online payments. This was a significant concern, as I knew that online payments had become increasingly popular and were a necessary part of modern banking. I recognized the importance of providing a seamless and convenient online payment experience to our users and knew that we needed to take action.
To address this issue, I collaborated with the mobile app developer, with the approval of the stakeholders and project manager to come up with an innovative solution. Together, we decided to introduce a virtual card that would enable our users to make online payments easily and securely. The virtual card was designed to function like a physical card, but without the need for a physical card to be issued. Users could simply generate a virtual card number through the app and use it to make online payments, just like they would with a physical card.
The introduction of the virtual card was a major milestone for our mobile banking service, and it proved to be a significant hit among our users. However, I didn't stop there. I realized that our users were also facing a similar challenge with making international payments, as the current bank policy did not allow international payments through our mobile app.
To overcome this challenge, I decided to introduce an international virtual card that would allow our users to make payments outside the country. This was a major breakthrough, as it provided a much-needed solution for our users who needed to make international payments but were previously unable to do so through our mobile app.
Overall, the introduction of the virtual card and the international virtual card was a game-changer for our mobile banking service, and it has helped us to provide a seamless and convenient banking experience for our users, both locally and internationally. We are committed to continuously improving our mobile app and providing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our users.
